Miguel Heleno is a Research Scientist at LBNL. He currently leads the Grid Planning and Economics team at the Grid Integration Group and coordinates the LBNL participation in the Microgrid R&D and the Advanced Grid Modeling Programs from the DOE Office of Electricity. He holds a MSc degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and a PhD in Sustainable Energy Systems from the University of Porto within the MIT Portugal Program. Miguel has more than 10 years’ experience in energy systems research and innovation, both in Europe and the United States, in the areas of grid optimization and planning, power systems economics and energy policy.
