Bio

Handi is an Energy Technology and Urban Planning Researcher with the Building Technology and Urban Systems Division of Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. In this role, he models energy use in buildings, conducts behavioral survey activities, and develops a decision support tool for demand flexibility in residential buildings.  He received his Ph.D. in Planning and Public Policy in 2017 from E.J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy at Rutgers University, where his research focused on applications of spatial econometric and simulation modeling to real estate market analysis and energy use in buildings. Prior to joining LBNL, he worked as an Urban Planning Consultant at the World Bank Group in Washington D.C. and as a lecturer at Universitas Tarumanagara in Jakarta, Indonesia.
