Peter Benoliel

Peter Benoliel is a Postdoc in the Systems and Energy Technologies Analysis (SETA) Department within the Energy Analysis Division at the Berkeley Lab. Peter's current research focuses on techno-economic analysis of infrastructure systems supporting non-traditional transportation and energy technologies, particularly the adoption of distributed energy resource technologies. Peter also does modeling work on heavy-duty, off-road, and emerging transportation systems, especially as they relate to non-traditional fueling technologies.

Peter earned his Ph.D. in Transportation Technology and Policy from the University of California - Davis in 2022, where he focused on developing a model to assess the charging infrastructure and strategies available to electrified transit bus networks. He also holds a M.S.E. in Automotive Systems Engineering with a focus in electric vehicle design from the University of Michigan - Dearborn and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from George Washington University.
