Seminar Abstract

Grid integration of DERs, EVs, and Static Storage pose both technology challenges and operational opportunities. Starting with EV Fleet Grid integration for the Department Of Defense at the LA Air Force Base, we will walk through several implementation models. The DOD LAAFB project led to the first EV Fleet providing A/S services in the 4 second Frequency Up/Down market in CAISO. From there we will explore the ESNA Innovation Award-winning EVgo Static Storage project at UCSD, VGI demand smoothing at Alameda County, and EV school bus fleet integration in Sacramento.
