Bio

Kyra Epstein is a program manager, writer, and journalist with more than 25 years of experience in the fields of environmental sustainability, natural living, green building, energy efficiency, and renewable energy. She holds master’s degrees in both environmental policy and communications from the University of Denver and is certified in permaculture design from the Regenerative Design Institute in Bolinas, California.

Throughout her career, which started as a communications specialist at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory in Colorado, she's helped government programs and not-for-profits develop and tell the stories of their organizations -- stories that create powerful positive change in the world. She's worked as a freelancer and contract writer in the energy efficiency, renewable energy, and sustainable living industries as a journalist, communication specialist, web writer, project manager, and teacher. My current and recent clients include the Berkeley National Laboratory, the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific. I also provide communications support for non-profits including Commonweal, the Mesa Refuge and Black Mountain Circle, in Marin County, California.
