Kathy Jang is a Scientific Engineering Associate at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. Prior to this role, Kathy obtained her B.A. in Computer Science from U,C. Berkeley in May 2018. Following this, Kathy was a research assistant working with Prof. Alexandre Bayen’s group, where she was affiliated with groups including Berkeley Artificial Intelligence Research (BAIR), PATH, and Berkeley Deep Drive (BDD). For the past few months, Kathy has been working remotely in New York to concurrently complete a research fellowship at the Recurse Center in Brooklyn. Kathy studies data-driven methods such as reinforcement learning to build intelligent, efficient urban and transportation systems; and aims to bridge the gap between policy and deployment by studying policy transfer, generalizability and robustness. She will continue her computer science education by starting her PhD in the Fall of 2019.
