Haeseong Jang is a postdoctoral researcher in Robert Kostecki's laboratory at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. He received his PhD in energy and chemical engineering from Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST) in 2021. Haeseong Jang was a research associate at Pohang Accelerator Laboratory (PAL) for two years. His research interests include materials for lithium ion batteries (LIBs), electrocatalysts for oxygen reduction reaction (ORR), oxygen evolution reaction (OER), hydrogen evolution reaction (HER), and vanadium redox flow batteries (VRFBs), and synchrotron based analysis methods like X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS). He seeks to understand mechanism and behavior of materials for energy storage systems (ESS) and design efficient materials for ESS by using various synthesis methods and synchrotron based analysis methods. He earned the YEBONG Best Dissertation Award from UNIST for his exemplary academic performance and numberous articles published in international journals.
