Bai Xue is a visiting scholar in the China Energy Group in the Energy Technologies Area at LBNL, as well as an associate professor in the resource and environment branch of the China National Institute of Standardization. He received his Ph.D. from the graduate school of Chinese Academy of Sciences. His research mainly focuses on water saving standardization, including management and methods of water saving, water intake norm in industrial sectors, water saving enterprises, water efficient household appliances, water footprint assessment and so on. He is also involved in energy conservation standardization, such as energy management, energy efficiency of household appliances and energy conservation in public institutions. He presided over more than 30 projects related to water and energy conservation from the Chinese government (MOST, NDRC, MWR, MIIT, SAC, etc.), NGO (REEEP, WWF, IFC, etc.) and enterprises. In addition, he has published approximately 20 papers in academic journals and developed more than 30 standards related to water, energy and material saving. He commits himself to establishing national water saving policy for NDRC, MWR and MIIT, such as water efficiency labeling, water efficiency top runner action and water saving planning. Finally, Bai Xue participates in the work from Workgroup for Water Footprint in ISO/TC207/SC5 (Life Cycle Assessment).
