Josh Schellenberg
Josh Schellenberg is an Affiliate in the Energy Markets & Policy Department. With over 16 years of consulting and policy experience in the electric utility industry, Josh supports the development of rigorous plans and cost-effectiveness analyses that provide clear insight into investment options and enable sound decision-making. His areas of expertise are:
• Resilience Planning: Including plan review and cost-effectiveness analyses for utility resilience plans and major transmission investments designed to mitigate the risks of climate change, natural disasters, physical security and other threats
• Value of Reliability: Including development of LBNL's national interruption cost model and Interruption Cost Estimate (ICE) Calculator, which have informed over $50 billion of grid modernization investments
• Demand Flexibility: Including studies of 20+ pilots and programs that have involved traditional demand response as well as more advanced models/technologies (distributed energy resources, electric vehicles, energy storage, dynamic pricing and ISO market integration)
Josh holds an MBA from The Wharton School and an M.A. in International and Development Economics from the University of San Francisco.
