Bio

Dr. Chuhyung Kim is a postdoctoral researcher in the Energy Storage & Distributed Resources (ESDR) Division of Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL). His current research focuses on the mechanistic unveiling/characterizations of selective metal ion removal and releases in hydrogen-bonded inorganic-organic framework and its feasible regeneration processes.

His research interests include resources (metal) recovery & recycling, reactive-membrane filters, water-energy-nexus, and self-remediating nanomaterials. Previously, he established self-remediating nanomaterials for spontaneous environmental redox conversions under dark ambient conditions and developed a photoelectrochemically hybrid system to mineralize microplastic with simultaneous hydrogen production.
