Bio

Ms. Shaffie is the President and Managing Partner of Shaffie Law and Policy, based in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area. She practices environmental law and policy, most recently focused on enabling the implementation of environmental policies, including the the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol. Her areas of expertise include energy efficiency, power sector transformation, short-lived climate pollutants - particularly HFCs, Superfund law, and environmental policy. She has managed and implemented environmental projects in multiple countries and continents. 
 
 
Previously, Ms. Shaffie litigated federal environmental cases focused on the cleanup of large landfills in the United States, and prior to that, she clerked at the D.C. Superior Court.  Ms. Shaffie holds an LLM in International and Comparative Law from the American University in Cairo, Egypt, a JD from the University of Kansas School of Law, and a BA in Economics and International Studies from the University of Kansas. In Egypt, she served as a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar, and focused her Master's on intellectual property law and digital platforms to bring innovations to market.
