A Framework For Remedy Selection at Superfund Sites Based on Risk, Cost and Benefit
The U.S. EPA performs a risk assessment in support of remedy selection at Superfund Sites which is based on conservative assumptions regarding various exposure parameters. In this Seminar, an approach based on the propagation of uncertainty and variability is presented. Such an approach can lead to alternative decisions regarding remedy selection, as well as delineate issues such as land-use planning and the protection of sensitive segments of the exposed population.
